jishaku

My family has been hooked on Jishaku from the moment we opened the box. We had a family game night and brought this game out just for kicks and it didn't take long before everyone was anxiously awaiting their turn to play. Just when you think you have this game mastered you jump as your magnets attract a string of magnets and you are back to ground zero. The game is played by taking turns placing magnets on to a foam board in hopes it doesn't attract other magnets already in play. If it does, you add these magnets to your stack. The object is to control your magnets and be the first to get rid of all magnets. This game will appeal to kids 8-99, yes even my 90 year old Nana loved this game. By the way Jishaku is the Japanese word for magnet.

Comfiest Outdoor Throw

This Kelty Woodstock Outdoor Blanket has a nylon underside so you can put it down on dew-covered grass and sit without getting wet. It's also great for the beach when the sand is still a bit wet. We bring it to outdoor concerts in the park and even picnics in our own backyard. I just love how it folds up into it's own bag. A must have for summer fun! It comes in 2 sizes, 60x48 for $40 and 72x72 for $55. I say buy the large, everyone will want a dry seat.

Peel & Stick by Number

Lauri Toys' Peel & Stick by Number sets are so much fun and mess free! The picture comes alive as your child creates beautiful mosaic scenes by placing the sticky foam squares on the numbered scene boards. This is a great gift for a birthday party at only $10. Each set contains four scene boards and a magnetic strip to attach to their piece of work so they may hang on the fridge.

Please note that while the sets are printed and assembled in the USA the foam pieces are made in China. We have vowed to not feature products made in China and if and when we do to let you know.

I LOVE Sara Blakely

Okay ladies...I know you may have heard of Spanx, but if you havent tried them yet, you really are missing out on the greatest invention ever (minus the 'essentials' like the automobile, disposable diapers and the like). As a mom to a 5 1/2 year old and a brand spanking new baby (just 11 weeks old!) it has definitely been harder to loose any weight at all with my second one. So my tummy is looking a wee bit pregnant still (I would call it about a 4 month preggo bump) and we had to go to a Halloween costume party this past weekend. In order to hide my 'bump' I tried out Spanx...and I will admit, I sprung for the cheaper Target (Assests) version. Wow! is all I can say...I looked like my pre-preggo self! I am now so in love that I bought three pair and plan on wearing them all the time. They are so comfortable, I swear! Just $20 at Target.com for the Assets line or you can spring for the original Spanx version for just $34. Now I dont want to sound too dramatic, but feeling good about your body can make your days be a little brighter...and Spanx may just change your (fashion) life! A great big thank you to Sara Blakely (inventor of Spanx)...you are a new mom's best friend!

Lice Free Zone

Now that school is in session so are lice! If lice have been spotted at your child's school or if prevention is important to you, use Lice-Free Zone prevention system. The shampoo and conditioner repel lice and other insects from your chil's hair and scalp naturally. The shampoo and leave-in conditioner smell great and make my daughter's hair soft. As a paranoid parent of a Kindergarten student I worry about lice coming home (as I have unfortunately dealt with it before), the Lice Free Zone duo by Circle of Friends is a favorite on our Shampoo shelf.
